📢 Notice of Intention to Dispose – Royal Oak Car Park & Garden

🗓 Deadline to submit an Expression of Interest: 16 September 2025

The owner of The Royal Oak, Blisworth has informed West Northamptonshire Council of their intention to sell the rear car park and gardens (highlighted in green on the plan below).

Important: The pub building itself is not included in this proposed disposal.

Under the Assets of Community Value process, the Parish Council – or any eligible Community Interest Group – has a 6-week “Interim Moratorium” period to express interest in bidding for the land.

📧 Email: assetsofcommunityvalue@westnorthants.gov.uk

If an eligible group submits an Expression of Interest, a 6-month “Full Moratorium” will begin, giving time to prepare and submit a bid to the owner.

If no Expressions of Interest are received by the deadline, the owner will be free to sell the land at any point during an 18-month Protection Period.

Blisworth Parish Council has not received any further information from West Northamptonshire Council regarding the proposed sale of a section of the Royal Oak public house garden. No valuation or sale details have been disclosed to Blisworth Parish Council.

Blisworth Parish Council is not able to bid successfully for the purchase of this land due to the high costs involved. Therefore Blisworth Parish Council resolved not to submit an Expression of Interest to bid for this asset.
