🌱 Grass-Cutting New Season 2026

The Parish Council has appointed a new grass‑cutting contractor, who began work on Monday 23 March 2026. Routine cuts will now take place every other Monday.

He joins us with excellent references, and we are confident he will deliver a reliable and consistent service. As he familiarises himself with all the areas requiring attention, we would be grateful if residents could allow him a little time to settle into the role.

To support this work, please ensure that vehicles are not parked on grass verges or other green spaces, as this prevents damage to the grassed areas and enables safe, effective cutting.

Following the winter period, the first cut often results in clumps of grass and a less even finish, which is normal when maintenance is infrequent.

For clarity, the contract requires the contractor to collect grass cuttings only within Eastfield play area. Extending grass‑collection to all verges and open spaces would significantly increase costs and is therefore not included in the specification.

Residents should also be aware that, if West Northamptonshire Council were to resume responsibility for grass cutting in the future, their schedule typically involves only a small number of cuts each year.

We appreciate the community’s cooperation in helping to keep the village looking tidy and well cared for.
